Auvers sur Oise

Vincent Van Gogh spent the last 70 days of his life at Auvers sur Oise under the care of Dr, Gachet. He rented a tiny attic room in the local Inn. He painted a picture a day of the buildings, people and landscape around him. He shot himself in the chest and returned to his room where he died a few days later. He had a wake in the Inn surrounded by his paintings. He is buried next to his brother on the outskirts of town. The town is now restored and gentrified and very pleasant though the story of Vincent is sad.
