Memphis Tennessee

 

We set out to Little Rock Arkansas. We stopped at the Memphis Botanical Garden after a couple of hours of driving. We stopped to look at the Mississippi Riverand talked with a lady who has watched the River front change over a 30 year period.It is all developed with condo, shops and restaurants like so many cities in America. America is now a world of corporate luxuries where everyone can enjoy the finer things in life. We stumbled onto the site of Martin Luther King’s assassination. It is one of those iconic locations of the America 1960s, a time, when luxury consisted of an automobile and a cape cod home with one bathroom for a family of five. For black America there was a lot less in the south. Integration was only a wishful thought of only a few.
