Yesterday, I visited galleries in Le Marais. There was a Chris Martin and Katherine Bradford show in a small gallery. I keep running in to more and more new galleries I never visited before. I found these small shinny apples at a stand near where we first stayed many years ago. I got a sandwich, coffee and dessert at a Boulangerie near where I am staying. I sat in the garden across from the Cite and enjoyed its peacefulness and color. Later I ran into an artist on the Pont Marie and I visited his Atelier. He is a professor of art and art history at Beijing University in China. I enjoyed learning about his practice. In conversation he mentioned he was a Tibetan Buddhist and we briefly spoke of religion.

View
The view from my window is of a park, a gardening center for Paris landscapers, and the sides of buildings where architecture has been removed leaving traces of the former structures. I enjoy how the light transforms the greenery, clay surfaces and sky.

Boudin/Monet
Monet started out making caricatures when he was 17 years old. The older Boudin encouraged Monet to paint with him along the beaches of Normandy. Eugene Boudin never considered himself an Impressionist and later exhibited at the Salon. He had enough success to buy a modest house. His last paintings were of Venice.
